The production process begins with the careful selection and sorting of scrap metal. Incoming raw material inspection ensures a stable chemical composition of future melts and compliance with international standards. The quality of the final product is established from the very first stage of material preparation.
Steel melting is carried out in induction and electric arc furnaces with continuous monitoring of temperature and chemical composition. Our in-house steelmaking facilities enable the production of a wide range of stainless and special steel grades tailored to customer requirements.
Argon Oxygen Decarburization (AOD) technology is used in the production of stainless and special steels. During refining, carbon content is reduced while alloying elements are carefully controlled, resulting in superior mechanical properties and corrosion resistance. This process is essential for achieving the high quality of stainless and specialty steel grades.
Following the melting process, steel is cast into moulds to produce square and polygonal ingots. Each ingot undergoes visual inspection and surface grinding to eliminate potential defects. This ensures high-quality feedstock for subsequent forging operations. The company manufactures square, polygonal, and other ingot types according to customer requirements.
During forging, the metal structure becomes more compact, mechanical properties are enhanced, and the final shape of the product is formed. The use of 1,200- and 3,500-ton hydraulic presses enables the production of large forgings for power generation, oil & gas, heavy engineering, and other demanding industries.
Heat treatment is performed to achieve the required mechanical properties of the material. Depending on the steel grade and customer specifications, annealing, normalizing, quenching, and tempering processes are applied. Precise temperature control ensures consistent product characteristics throughout each batch.
Controlled cooling after heat treatment provides the required strength, hardness, and wear resistance of the product. The quenching medium is selected according to the steel grade and the technical requirements of the finished component.
Dnepro Press Steel performs machining of forgings and semi-finished products using modern equipment. Turning, milling, and drilling operations ensure high dimensional accuracy and allow the production of components in full compliance with customer drawings and specifications.
Product quality is monitored throughout every stage of production. Our in-house laboratory performs chemical analysis, mechanical testing, metallographic examinations, and non-destructive testing. Operating in accordance with ISO 17025 requirements, the laboratory ensures reliable test results and full traceability for every production batch.
